WinSCP password not remebered

DanyC - Sun 31/01/2010 17:29:54 CET +0100

Hi,

I have decided to use Kitty due to the WinScp integration and i saw that when WinSCP is launched it ask me for the user and password altough the session has already the password stored.

This is happening only when i launch it via Kitty.
Is anyway to tell Kitty to start the WinSCP sessions with the password stored?

Thanks,
Dani

It should work as you said. Here it works.
When running WinSCP, the connection is done with the user and the password that are used in the first place when you start you ssh session. Beware if you use su command.

Hi Cyd,

Thanks for the answer.Unfortunately it doesn't remember the user & pass stored in WinSCP session.
If i launch WinSCP session and then open session in putty, the kitty window is displayed. If i use putty instead of Kitty the ssh session is using the user & pass defined in the winSCP.

If i'm using Putty Connection Manager and then try to open WinSCP it ask me for the user & pass which is not what i was looking for.

The only integration I did is to open automatically a WinSCP session when you are already into KiTTY.
1) open a SSH KiTTY session
2) then press SHIFT+F3 to open the WinSCP session without entering login and password
If you start WinSCP from everywhere else it can't work. That's only KiTTY that know your password.
If you want to use PuTTYCM with KiTTY don't forget to rename your kitty.exe into putty.exe beacause, PuTTYCM calls expressly a binary file named putty.exe.

More info :

- I use 0.62.1.2 version
- kitty.ini (savemode=dir)
- WinSCPPath seem ignored, because path link to WinSCP 4.18 but shift + F3 launch another exe 4.1.5

It's ok
I was testing with root. Bad things ;-)

I also use 0.62.1.2 in portable mode, and WinSCP 5.0.7 (installed in the same directory where kitty.exe is).
Everything works fine !

integration with WinSCP run only when auto login username is define.
That's not work if username is asked (prompt) or use system username

Hi,

Cyd, which options do you use for connect in connection => data ?
for me :
- auto login username define = OK
- prompt = KO (ask user/password in WinSCP when shift + F3 )
- use system username = KO (same as above)

of course, I can miss somthing, don't see what ;-)

thanks for your response

Hi,

I have the same issue.
Does we must define our login name into configuration of kitty ("user login username" in connection and then data) ?

thanks

Please test that special build: http://www.9bis.net/kitty/data/beta/kitty.exe

Thanks for your answer.

Now, when use prompt configuration, without define any username in configuration data menu, the username'ssession is use for login to WinSCP but not the password's session.
When use system username configuration, neither username nor password are passed to WinSCP.

Cyd - Fri 22/06/2012 17:12:41 CEST +0200

You're wrong: password is used.

But your are right with system username. It's not done.

Voran - Tue 26/06/2012 14:53:59 CEST +0200

It's ok only if "auto-login password" is define

Is it planned to use system username and without define password in "auto-login password" ?
