Kitty window is restored to normal size from maximized on irssi highlight

Whenever I get a highlight in irssi then Kitty window is restored to normal size from maximized. Bell in the shell does not cause this problem so this is somehow related to irssi highlights. I just updated to 0.62.1.2 from 0.61.1.1. Didn't have this problem in the older version. Any ideas what could be causing this?

I tried that build Cyd which works well at stopping it from restoring to normal size from maximise, but unfortunately also stops hilighting in the task bar!
