Please be more precise (Kitty version, is cygwin installed on your computer or did you download the cygwin1.dll, which cygwin1.dll version you have).
I use it every day and it works perfectly.

i get an error:

kitty version is 0.60.65.8

$ uname -a
CYGWIN_NT-5.1 move 1.5.25(0.156/4/2) 2008-06-12 19:34 i686 Cygwin

its an fully installed cygwin. normal putty works. no other cygwin dll in path.

Did you put these two lines in your kitty.ini file ?
     [KiTTY]
     cygterm=yes

This message appears if your don\'t tell the KiTTY configuration box that cygterm is enable.
