Uncommpressed version of executable

Sergei Dyshel - Fri 28/11/2008 00:24:08 CET +0100

Hi

Can you put an uncompressed (e.g. without UPX applied) version of kitty.exe? Or you can remove the signature check :)
Sometimes I need to duplicate a session many times and loading of one copy (uncompressing it to memory) takes 2 secs - that's too much for me!

Compressed version need less time to load than uncompressed one.

Wrong compressed version needs less time to load first time, but on subsequent starts its slightly less since there is uncompresion step, and file reading step does not exist since it is already in memory

just my 1.5 cents

I was under the impression that the UPX tool could convert a compressed binary back into uncompressed.

Rather than Cyd having to generate this and maintain a second copy, single users could grab UPX and decompress the binary themselves.

Kitty got a signature check, so an upx uncompressed version doesn't start but just prints an error.

Some security suites detect runtime packed executables (upx) as Malware.

An unpacked exe would be nice :-)

(bad english, i know)
