Transparency on Vista and Windows 7?
miles - Fri 30/01/2009 20:32:56 CET +0100
I've tried getting it to work every way I can think of, but it just won't display a transparent background. I've tried it on Windows Vista and Windows 7 with no success.

Hi Miles
Transparency is deactivated by default. Just add these lines to your %APPDATA%/KiTTY/kitty.ini file [KiTTY] transparency=yes Cyd shollomon - Sat 06/06/2009 15:56:00 CEST +0200
Just found out KiTTY exists and giving it a try. I'm running Windows 7 RC with Aero enabled. I added transparency=yes to the [KiTTY] section of the kitty.ini file. Then I nuked the kitty registry entry, my old putty registry entries, the kitty.sav file and putty.dav. Then I rebooted so I got a clean (I think) start with KiTTY. Still no transparency. I am obviously doing something wrong, but what?

I found a way changing the value at registry TransparencyValue inside of DefaultSettings. I found best settings at 0xbb, but YMMV.

I've tried adding it to the .ini file, I tried changing the value in the registry entry... both without success. Is this a known bug or am I missing something? Any help would be appreciated.

Just following up on this since the transparency setting is still missing for me after adding the entry in kitty.ini, currently on the latest version, 0.63.0.4. Any ideas?
