Wish: Drag & Drop = Upload to Current Dir / Disable Double-click = View/Edit on the Website
- Sun 27/09/2009 11:20:01 CEST +0200
I should start with...I haven't downloaded KiTTY yet to test it, but I might...anyway the help file says...
"The file will be sent into the root of the account defined in the session." ...then it says... "You can also send a file or a directory with a simple drag'n drop into the session window." ...could you change this so it defaults to uploading to the current dir?...& maybe have another option...Shift+Drag & Drop (holding Shift before you drop) = Ask me where to upload it...&...Ctrl+Drag & Drop = Upload it to the root of the account (like it does now, but this time require holding Ctrl, cuz the non-hotkey Drag & Drop should go to the current dir)... Also is there any reason PuTTY don't have forums & hasn't been updated in forever?...& why is PuTTY still beta?...are they competing with Google for longest beta (Gmail)? I know those aren't really related to KiTTY (nice name! I love KiTTY's)...but since PuTTY doesn't have a forum, I'm left putting it here... To Cyg: That TiddlyWiki double-click "editing" is annoying, for one, I don't have permission to edit it, so it only views, for another, there is a view/edit text link, so I don't need double-click to edit...could you disable double-click = view/edit on the website?...also is this a TiddlyWiki Forum or what?...why not phpBB? I guess the TiddlyWiki is only at 9bis.net/kitty/data/html/KiTTY.html ...but PumaWiki is everywhere else?...in any case the entire site is random-double-clickers unfriendly, I like to double-click for no reason & don't want to enter any view/edit mode...anyone know of an Addon for Firefox to prevent webpages from hijacking double-clicks? I don't want any site to hijack my random double-clicks! Could we have a post preview? (hint: phpBB has it) Cyd - Mon 28/09/2009 13:36:26 CEST +0200
What a long thread !
First: I don't have anything to do with PuTTY team. I have started to improve the original PuTTY with the version 0.58 (it is already more than 2 years ago). I applied all my personal changes to each new version (I am not to be able to go on now, there are so many changes). About the upload directory, I can not do more than I did. I don't have any way to know the current directory. KiTTY is a terminal window, not a SFTP browser. KiTTY is only a "passive" interface that sends all what the user strikes on his keyboard to the remote server. That is the job of the server to interpret commands. The terminal can't know what kind of server it is, it can't even know if it is a server that have directory structure. For example, you can use any terminal software (such as KiTTY) to check your POP3 mail. And a mail server does not have a directory structure. That is what I can't target a specific directory. The best I can do is to send files to "." directory that in most system (Unix or Windows) will send the files on "home" directory. Now about the double click: the fact is that I really like to enter the editing mode for a page ... with double-click. So I won't change it for the PumaWiki part. For the TiddlyWiki file, I'm not sure to know how to do that. I am a simply user of TiddlyWiki. Maybe it is possible to change it when your are a online viewer. But as it isuseful to download ... Anyway, thank you for your interest. Cyd Answer |
