What is the difference between pscp and kscp?
Cyd - Sun 14/02/2010 15:44:35 CET +0100
kscp is equivalent to pscp but adapted to KiTTY settings. It uses the same registry keys than KiTTY, and of course it can be run in portable mode.

Can you elaborate more on how kscp is used? In a session, I press Ctrl+F3, a window popup ask me to pick a file to be sent. I picked a file, another terminal window popup with kscp in the titlebar. It sit there for a few seconds then close, but nothing happen (the file is not sent).

It should work exactly like you did.
I need more informations: kscp is into the same directory than kitty ? Is your session telnet or ssh ? What kind of authentication do you use (password, private key, pageant) ? Did you check your rights on the home directory (it MUST be writable) ? Cyd Shahab - Wed 22/09/2010 01:51:07 CEST +0200
Hi Cyd, Thanks for the superb integration between the two. I guess tri also got stuck where I did, when the file is drag and dropped, the file is transferred to the server but it is saved to user's home directory. It doesnt get uploaded to user's current directory.
I'm using SSH on HPUX Itanium server and let me explain with an example: My home directory is /home/shahab/ Say there is another directory called uploads in the /home/shahab path and I cd to upload directory. Now if I press SHIFT F3 or simply drag and drop any files from my desktop, the kscp window comes for a flash and goes away. I see there is no file uploaded to server in the path /home/shahab/uploads. But when I cd ../ to home/shahab , I see my file there. Can it be made so that the file being uploaded gets uploaded to user's current directory instead of user's home directory. ? No currently I can't.
PuTTY has no way to no where you are into your directory structure. PuTTY only is a terminal, not a browser. 'cd' command is completly non sense for PuTTY. It is only interpreted by your remote server. So the only directory I can expect to reach, to send file with pscp is '.' (that is interpreted by $HOME in Unix system. It is the best I can do. It is also possible to use remotedir parameter:
[KiTTY] remotedir=/home/shahab/uploads Leo Answer |
