Feature Request: Reconnect Button on Network Error

uw - Tue 26/10/2010 12:00:46 CEST +0200

Hi,

first of all: Thanks for this great program.
I have a feature request for something that I already missed in putty for years. Maybe KiTTY can make my dream come true :-)
It often happens that I try to do telnet to a device that only supports ssh and vice versa.
Wouldn't it be possible to add two buttons to the network error dialog called "Try telnet" and "Try ssh"?
Or at least a way to get back to the config window without having to type the ip address again?

By the way: Is it possible to reduce the connection timeout?

regards
uw

It is a strange feature.
I mean, it is strange not to known the kind of protocol that runs on a a device you want to reach.
Do you have so many devices than you can't create a session for each of them ?

I'm not sure I will do something for that request, or try to be more precise.

Hello
I think this would be a nice feature:
Normally when a session timed out a small window pops up with a message like "timed-out" or "network-error".
I have then to click ok, go back to the inactive kitty-window, right-click on the top of the window and choose "restart-session".
Or vice versa: klick OK on this message-window go back and close the session on the kitty window.
I would be nice when there are a additional buttons directly on the session-time-out window with the "restart-session" and "close session" function.

Regards
Ernst

+1, if possible :)

+1 on this feature. I connect to a server that closes the connection automatically after a few hours, whether the connection is idle or not, it\'s a silly hard timeout. I\'d like kitty to be able to attempt a few times to re-connect (I use keys and pageant so it should be able to log in automatically if the network/server are good).
