spaces in session names

Is there a way that sessions with spaces in their names can be saved on disk with a real space rather than converted to %20? For example, if I save a session called "abc def", it gets saved on disk as "abc%20def" which makes the session names harder to read when browsing using Windows Explorer. I tried renaming the file on disk to "abc def", and the session still appears in the list in KiTTY, but it will not connect to that session when I double-click on it.
