Use the PuTTY Registry
Dean Householder - Wed 26/09/2012 19:21:21 CEST +0200
I use a lot of tools that read from the PuTTY path in the registry such as:
PuTTY Session Manager PuTTY Connection Manager MTPuTTY Launchy with PuTTY Plugin I recently discovered Kitty and was excited that it was better than my previous PuTTY Tray in several ways. The one thing I don't like about it is that it copies all of my PuTTY sessions and creates it's own KiTTY path in the registry. This means that any changes I make to the KiTTY database is not available to my other tools mentioned above. Could you create an option to KiTTY to use the HKCU\Software\SimonTatham\PuTTY\Sessions registry path instead of the HKCU\Software\9bis.com\KiTTY\Sessions path? Thank you for considering this! Get it: https://content.wuala.com/contents/9bis.com/public/build/0.62.1.3/putty.exe?dl=1

I deleted the HKCU\Softwarebis.com path in the registry and ran this new build. Immediately it read in my PuTTY configuration and re-created all the HKCU\Software\9bis.com entries. I created a new session in your 0.62.1.3 build and it created it in the HKCU\Software\9bis.com branch and not in the HKCU\Software\SimonTatham branch.
Am I misunderstanding how this should work? Also, is this a one-off build you're making just for me or will this be an option for anyone who wants it as part of the main release? I'm hoping that it will be rolled into the official branch. Answer |
