Keyboard Shortcuts
JP - Thu 14/02/2013 20:47:14 CET +0100
Would it be possible to get any of the following added?:
+ keyboard shortcuts that allow you to alter the font-size of the session (up and down) + a \"printer friendly\" keyboard shortcut that switches your session colors to black on white background (and back to original settings) + I want to second this request: fixed-width font printing (http://www.9bis.net/kitty/?action=forum&id=0352) If these shortcuts can be configured already, could someone tell me how? Thanks! yoyos - Mon 06/07/2015 15:01:41 CEST +0200
I think the first feature is very useful. Now you have to go to "change settings" and servaral clickes just to increase the font size, and you may not suitable size after that. A keyboard shortcut or a menu item would be very convenient.

+1 for font-size shortcuts!

Keyboard shortcuts for font size up/down would be awesome.
I'd like to vote for the "common" shortcuts supported in web browsers and some other programs of: ctrl+minus to decrease font size, ctrl+plus to increase font size, and ctrl+zero to reset to the configured default font size. James Olsen - Tue 23/01/2018 22:48:17 CET +0100
While we wait for native support for font size adjustment shortcuts, maybe quick hack to KiTTY would be to let it receive a windows message to increase, decrease, and reset font size, such as:
SendMessage( hwnd , WM_COMMAND , IDM_FONTSIZE , 0 ) ; And then we can use a third party app like autohotkey to intercept the shortcut key and send KiTTY Windows message that could then be handled and adjust the font size up/down/reset. Cyd - Wed 24/01/2018 08:49:58 CET +0100
The feature still exists ... but I've just realized it buggy: it works only once.
I've fixed the bug and uploaded a beta build. Get it at: http://www.9bis.net/kitty/data/beta/kitty.exe The shortcuts are ctrl+plus/minus to increase/decrease font size and ctrl+0 to reinit the font size to original. Mike - Thu 08/02/2018 21:41:36 CET +0100
Thank you soooo much Cyd for this beta version with the CTRL+plus/minus and CTRL+0 (on the numerical keypad)
This is very useful when I'm doing a demo on a shared screen and want to ensure that the attendants can see clearly the console. Thanks again, Mike. Subhash - Tue 29/05/2018 10:17:22 CEST +0200
Download the latest version and beta version as well. The CTRL+plus/minus and CTRL+0 shortcut still does not work.
This is a great alternative for Putty, but a organized support for shortcut will make it better. Some shortcuts I would like to see 1) Using CTRL+MouseScroll for changing Font size (like in current version of PuttyTray) 2) CTRL+SHIFT+T (or any other key combination) for a duplicate session (like in many Linux distro) I like the feature that I do not need to re-enter password for a duplicate session, but it will be also great if the current working directory is also replicated in new duplicate session Frank - Sun 03/06/2018 23:19:20 CEST +0200
If I press Ctrl+PLUS/MINUS then I see no change in the window appearance. The config box (when opened) reflects the changed font size, but this new value is not activated. Is that intentional?

I saw font-size related items in the changelog for the most recent version (0.70.0.5p) but when I try to use ctrl+plus or ctrl+minus on both the "normal" part of the keyboard and on the numeric keypad, using both ctrl keys, it doesn't seem to do anything. In fact, ctrl+0 actually types a 0 in my terminal. Is there a setting somewhere to enable this functionality in kitty? I flipped through them and didn't notice anything obvious, but maybe I simply didn't know what to look for?
Has anyone got this to work, and if so, what did you need to do? - Mon 11/06/2018 15:28:24 CEST +0200
I need more informations to reproduce your issue
Please use the contact page to email me James Olsen - Thu 28/06/2018 20:53:48 CEST +0200
Update: It seems to mostly work now. I'm not sure what changed from my last post when it didn't work. I was able to get this work with an external keyboard with my laptop with a real numeric keypad and mostly works to scale font size up and down, but the reset (ctrl+N0) does not work.
It would be nice if this functionality could be configured (via .ini if nothing else) to use the normal ctrl+plus, ctrl+minus and ctrl+0 key combinations (like most web browsers) and not only the numeric keypad key combinations. Thanks geh - Wed 05/09/2018 17:21:20 CEST +0200
looks like it is only possible to use the keyboard shortcut, once *after* you use the menu item.
if you haven't used the "font up" or "font down" item, nothing will happen when you use the shortcut. Answer |
