Improve (SCP/SFTP) Speeds

RC - Fri 08/03/2013 21:03:04 CET +0100

Putty, and all programs using Putty code, perform terribly when transferring files with SCP or SFTP.

I performed some simple benchmarks of SFTP uploads, and found pscp, WinSCP, and Filezilla all upload at about 1MBytes/sec. Cygwin scp/sftp gets about 6MBytes. SmartFTP manages sustained transfers over 8.5MBytes/sec to the same server, and uploads a large file in under three minutes, rather than thirty minutes.

Any improvements you can make would have a hugely positive impact, not just on users of kitty, putty, filezilla, winscp, and many others that use putty code.
