Save As for sessions?

NIXin - Fri 09/08/2013 00:47:50 CEST +0200

Hi all,
Maybe I'm missing something, but now when I open a session with KiTTY I can't change its name and save it. This pretty much makes it impossible to create sessions based on an already existing one (e.g. duplicating with a different port or IP). Is it possible to duplicate the sessions somehow?

I agree with NIXin. In PuTTY when you load a session, change its name and save it, it create a new session with the loaded parameters. In my opinion, KiTTY should do the same or have a "Save as" button.

I really don't understand. KiTTY does exactly the same.

I have tried with both kitty_portable.exe and kitty_nocompress.exe and I'm not able to create new session from existing sessions. Here is what I did:

1- Open KiTTY
2- Write "test@test.com" in the Host Name field
3- Write "test01" in the Save Sessions/New folder field
4- Click the Save (d) button
Now "test01" appears in the sessions list
5- Close KiTTY
6- Open KiTTY
7- Click on "test01"
8- Click on the Load button
9- Change "test01" to "test02" in the Saved Sessions/New folder field
10- Change "test@test.com" to "test@test.net" in the Host Name field
11- Click on the Save (d) button
Now, "test02" change back to "test01" in the Saved Sessions/New folder field and if I load "test01" the adress is changed to "test@test.net".

In the mean time, since I have put "savemode=dir" in my kitty.ini file, I can copy/paste new sessions in the "Session" folder.

So is there any option/switch we can expect in the future versions to be able to "save as" or "rename" a session? It's quite annoying normal putty can handle this and KiTTY has this broken.
All the best
