Automatic password in 0.63.0.1 19/08/2013
Chris Zanoni - Thu 22/08/2013 19:03:46 CEST +0200
In Kitty .63.0.1 19/08/2013, I set an automatic password for login, and when I start a session, te session window says "Send Automatic Password" and then after a few seconds I get "Access denied". After retyping the password and retyring several times with no luck, I searched your forums for a solution. I found a post from a person who was having this problem under .62. (www.9bis.net/kitty/?action=forum&id=0162&zone=en) and there was a link to a beta of .62.2.3. .62.2.3 WORKS!
If I type a new password into a new entry in .63, it doesnt work. If I then immediately open .62, load that entry i created in .63 and open it, it works. If I then go BACK to .63 and load and open that same entry (without any other changes), .63 uses the automatic password correctly. What I found is that if I only enter the password into .63, kitty.sav does NOT have a "Password"="...." line. But when I then use that entry in .62, .62 has added a "Password"= line to kitty.sav. I downloaded kitty from the main link here on your site: http://www.9bis.net/dm/downloadmanager.php?domain=downloadbestsoft&name=kitty.exe I will keep using .62.2.3 until I see things have changed. Thanks for the great putty extension! It makes my life a LOT easier : Chris Cyd - Fri 23/08/2013 10:53:22 CEST +0200
Can you try that special build: https://www.9bis.net/kitty/data/beta/kitty.exe
Joseph H. - Fri 23/08/2013 18:18:10 CEST +0200
Hi,
I got the same problem with KiTTY Portable. Is there a special build for me to try? Thanks. Cyd - Fri 23/08/2013 19:42:30 CEST +0200
This build should work in portable mode too
Peter - Sat 24/08/2013 16:28:27 CEST +0200
With kitty 0.63.0.1 facing the same problem - both normal and portable kitty version. It?s working with interactive password typed, user+password stored results in closing the session in the moment of opening. I?ve tried to get some information in putty.log but nothing useful is logged:
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~= PuTTY log 2013.08.24 16:24:55 =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~= Using username "root". Nothing more was logged. - I?ll keeping keep 062.2.2 in use which works fine with the stored passwords. (p.s. thanks a log for great work on kitty!) Peter Peter - Sat 24/08/2013 16:42:08 CEST +0200
KiTTY-0.63.0.1.@23/08/2013-15:53:19(DFT) has same stored-password
behaviour as 0.63.0.1.@19/08/2013-10:46:34 - session ended immmediately. both - normal and portable version. Peter Cyd - Sat 24/08/2013 17:52:33 CEST +0200
Yes there is a known issue with password saving in 0.63.0.1.
Already fixed but not officially available. You can get a beta version here: http://www.9bis.net/kitty/data/beta/kitty.exe Next official release in the next week. Frank - Mon 26/08/2013 09:34:55 CEST +0200
Even Beta Version has same issue.
Can you provide a link to download old Version 0.62 again ? Cyd - Mon 26/08/2013 10:51:12 CEST +0200
Sorry, but I am not able to reproduce your issue.
On my side it works fine either in classic mode or portable mode. Peter - Mon 26/08/2013 17:29:32 CEST +0200
Same problem. User+PW functionality broken with 0.63
Chris Zanoni - Mon 26/08/2013 17:38:16 CEST +0200
This second link seems to work fine. To confirm, I removed the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\9bis.com tree from the registry, deleted the entire kitty directory from the c:\users\czanoni\application data, nd then restarted it. I added a new entry, added the username and password, saved it, then opened it, and it works fine.
Thanks for the timely fix! wildbleau - Wed 28/08/2013 11:25:40 CEST +0200
Hello,
On my side, it's impossible to use the "automatic password" function : Kitty (v0.63.0.2) crashes each time I try to start a new session. bne - Thu 29/08/2013 13:57:37 CEST +0200
every version from 0.63.x crashes if i store the password under "data"
i removed the registry entries i removed the portable .ini if i load the session and remove the password, it work? Daniel - Tue 03/09/2013 08:57:11 CEST +0200
Hi Cyd,
I am also getting the APPCRASH when using the automatic password in 0.63.0.x - When I use it to connect to Solaris 10 Hosts, Linux hosts & FreeBSD hosts it works fine. But as soon as I connect to a Solaris 11.1 host I get the APPCRASH. Solaris 11.1 host logs: fatal: Read from socket failed: Connection reset by peer. When I use 0.62.2.3 it works fine. If you need me to run Kitty in debug, please explain to me again how to do it? :) Then I will send you the info Thanks Daniel Oleg - Tue 03/09/2013 09:05:46 CEST +0200
Hello!
> impossible to use the "automatic password" function : Kitty (v0.63.0.2) crashes each time just the same for all 0.63 subversions. XP SP3 so, still work on 0.62 -- it rocks Cyd - Tue 03/09/2013 13:27:22 CEST +0200
Can someone tell me if that beta build (https://www.9bis.net/kitty/data/beta/kitty.exe) fixes the password issue ?
Daniel - Tue 03/09/2013 13:33:09 CEST +0200
Hi Cyd,
You are a genius. The beta works for me :D - now I can connect to all my hosts including solaris 11.1 hosts :) Thanks Daniel Cyd - Tue 03/09/2013 13:54:05 CEST +0200
Thanks for your report.
0.63.0.3 will be ready very soon. I'm just finishing to work on an issue in he folder filter. Shahab - Wed 04/09/2013 15:13:08 CEST +0200
Hi Cyd,
This beta works for me too. All hosts are HPUX 11.31. I'm running Windows 7 32 Bit with AD. Thanks a lot for your work :) Peter - Wed 04/09/2013 17:12:03 CEST +0200
KiTTY 0.63.0.2. 03/09/2013-20:07:45(GMT) (post fromCyd - Tue 03/09/2013 13:27:22 CEST +0200)
works perfekt again with also with stored passwords, checked on Linux, HP-UX 11.11 Solaris 10. Many thanks for the quick fix. Oleg - Tue 10/09/2013 19:35:30 CEST +0200
Hi Cyd!
automatic password works in 0.63.0.3, thanx a lot! But now the following issue: doesn't work copy-prev-word (M-_) within tcsh (term linux). Instead of the last worв I see a dot char (.) 0.62 - works quite allright. Please, make it work again! Oleg - Tue 10/09/2013 19:36:35 CEST +0200
I forgot to add: I use portable version
Oleg - Tue 10/09/2013 19:51:53 CEST +0200
I beg your pardon =), but I should add one more remark: In order to work correctly copy-prev-word (Atl+Shift+_) I have to select the session name, press Load button, and then open it. If I skip loading -- there'd be symbol `_' instead of the last word from the previous cmd.
Cyd - Tue 10/09/2013 21:12:07 CEST +0200
Just disable meta bit setting.
Oleg - Thu 12/09/2013 23:56:21 CEST +0200
> meta bit setting
Thanx! now it works like a charm! Really good work! Answer |
