Can't seem to get UTF-8 characters to show

Hi,
UTF-8 characters seem to show up blank in KiTTY 0.63.0.6, yet they show up fine in PuTTY 0.63 using same translation settings. Turn background image feature off.
Add these lines to your %APPDATA%/KiTTY/kitty.ini file: zzz - Fri 31/01/2014 22:00:53 CET +0100
Argh, I can't believe I missed the cautionary note when I turned it on!
