Auto-reconnect

Hi,

I found KiTTY very good! I use it for my SSH connections. The Keep Alive setting is very powerful. Nevertheless, when I leave the connection open for serveral hours (for tunneling) when my Internet connection resets (very often) the session closes. The save password for reconnect is good, so I can click in reconnect to restablish the connection without retyping the password. However, I suggest to include an option to auto-reconnect: when session closes, after X seconds the application tries to reconnect, up to N number of times.

You agree this?

I really like the Reconnect options, but I see glitches in the auto reconnect process. When using DNS names for my remote hosts, I get a fault "unknown host" - only option now is to close Kitty and restart. I believe this is due to the autoreconnect is performed before I have a valid connection, i.e. connection to a DNS. For IP addresses I see no problem - I guess Kitty retries, and retries.

I like also to show an Auto-Reconnection option in KiTTy, and not only the current Keep Alive option.

I fell it's impossible to ensure that the process always complete. For example, if the server has dynamic DNS, it's down, etc. But using the same IP the software can try to reconnect to the same server after X seconds. Now, when my session disconnects (because my home network disconnects to the Internet), then I can use the option "Restart Session" and it reconnects automatically (without asking for password), so I feel it's very easy to call this option automatically even X seconds.

I suggest to add this great funciton!

have you tried the option "Attempt to reconnect on connection failure" , on Connection tab ?
This worked for me, even without setting an anti-idle string ....
I checked this by disconnect my dsl line (while I leave open the KiTTY console), my connection was dropped, and after few seconds it reconnects automatically without any user interaction...
