feature request: Force pseudo-tty allocation.

Stelios Mavromichalis - Mon 09/03/2015 17:08:10 CET +0100

hello,

the RequestTTY option on openssh (or the -t flag, same deal) is a feature i wish to request if possible.

to copy from openssh manual:

-t Force pseudo-tty allocation. This can be used to execute arbitrary screen-based programs on a remote machine, which can be very useful, e.g.
when implementing menu services. Multiple -t options force tty allocation, even if ssh has no local tty.

we make use of it because we set the "command" parameter on public key login to avoid full interactive access and advertise a simple interface. this way the client has no access on the server but the functions we support/advertise. from those the ones they require allocating a tty on the server (like an editor) are not possible atm due to this missing feature.

keep up the great work.

best regards,

/mstelios
