launch w/folder specified not working

Neil - Mon 09/11/2015 20:55:34 CET +0100

Greetings:

I've been using KiTTY for a few years now and simply love the enhancements!

Recently, on a Windows 2008 Server (Remote Desktop session), KiTTY stopped working and darned if I can figure why. I was running version 64.0.0 and had two folders, Prod and Test, created with launching icons in my Quick Launch Toolbar specifying which folder to open. Today, when I click on either of those two icons, which had been working for months(!), I get a Windows error indicating the program has stopped working. When I click on the 'plain' KiTTY icon, on the Desktop, it opens, but neither folder is present/available (I'm guessing due to the location of the executable not being in the normal tree). Error details are:

"Problem signature:
     Problem Event Name: APPCRASH

So, I downloaded 65.1.1 from your website, and it is acting in the exact same manner.

Yes, I've long ago switched the savemode to dir in the kitty.ini file AND performed the convert function.

In the ..\KiTTY\Sessions directory, the two folders are present AND the contents appear to be proper.

Any suggestions on how to get the Folder function working again?

Thanks!

Neil

OK - figured out the problem, sort of.

Apparently the SysAdmins turned on some sort of security feature such that executables could only be run from the two Progam Files folders and the user's Desktop.

So, as ugly as this sounds, I copied all of the KiTTY sub-folders and files to my Desktop, put them off in a corner, and changed my Quick Launch shortcuts to point there.

Other than the fact that my Desktop now looks ugly, everything's fine now.

Who knew?!
