Capture current displayed text to file or clipboard

I was wondering if there is a way to assign a shortcut to capture the current displayed text on screen to file or clipboard?

I've done this using AutoHotKey
Created a small app and when I press F3 it copies the scrollback buffer to the clipboard, opens notepadd++ and then pastes the scrollback and opens the search field. Check the AHK forums, there are some simple examples. Answer |
