Odd prompt without connection

So on 2 of my 4 ssh connections Kitty simply displays the following. It seems to be a non-interactive prompt. What would cause this?

Try to read the event log.

OK so with the event log I discovered that I had indeed messed up part of the configuration (set to 1 only instead of 2) but it's now the same sized window but connecting and not expanding at all for more room.
