All kitty windows want to move to the first desktop: if I open a window on another desktop and then switch to #1 it moves there and stays there. kitty does not play nice with virtual desktops

I use the goscreen virtual desktop manager and kitty 0.67.1.1 does not play nice with it. All kitty windows want to move to the first desktop: if I open a window on another desktop and then switch to #1 it moves there and stays there. This did not happen with 0.63, which I previously used.
