I have tried, but get a lot of errors with missing header files and undeclared variables. I could go though and change these manually, but this doesn't feel right somehow. I can compile Putty source code Ok using Visual Studio 2015 Community or GCC (MinGW). I can compile Putty source code Ok using Visual Studio 2015 Community or GCC (MinGW).

The right syntax is:
make -f MAKEFILE.MINGW putty.exe
