Command Line to automate SSH Tunnels

Lake - Sat 07/10/2017 15:32:16 CEST +0200

hi - I am trying to automate connecting from a local desktop pc to a remote cable modem.
the desktop pc cannot connect to the remote cable modem directly.

On local pc, I can load a saved kitty session and connect to a remote host that does have access to the cable modem.
Once connected to the remote host - I can telnet to the modem from that remote host - that part works fine.

To access the modem with a web browser - I currently have to
load the kitty session and then modify the current kitty configuration
by clicking, kitty configuration, connection, ssh, tunnels and then adding
2 forwarding ports ie ip address of remote modem:80 and ipaddress of modem :8080
Once loaded - I then launch a chrome web browser and access modem via localhost

I am trying to simplify this so that
i can just copy the ip address of remote modem on the pc
then have kitty launch a session, pop the telnet window to the modem and the web browser access to the modem.

Any suggestions on command line options to automate this would be most welcome and appreciated.

Hi,

Me too! I like also to see one "automatization" process for controling SSH tunnels.

My suggestion is add the option for including in SCRIPTS a method for create/manage/destroy SSH tunnels. With this support will be very simple to achieve this: you write your script and you execute your script.

Futhermore, the option for "auto-launch" the script from the commandline, or a "hot key" to launch a script will be necessary.

My two cents!
Regards.
