Add KiTTY version to "PuTTY_KiTTY"
Daniel - Thu 23/11/2017 11:42:28 CET +0100
Hi Cyd,
Hope you are well. I often browse our server SSH logs to check which SSH Client Software our users are using. PuTTY SSH gets advertised as PuTTY_Release_0.69, PuTTY_Release_0.66, PuTTY_Release_0.62 etc (This indicates the version of PuTTY being used). With KiTTY, the version is not advertised to the SSH Daemon, only "PuTTY_KiTTY" 2017-11-23T11:06:35+03:00 Sulley sshd[29106]: [ID 800047 auth.debug] debug1: Client protocol version 2.0; client software version PuTTY_KiTTY 2017-11-23T11:35:02+03:00 Sulley sshd[25269]: [ID 800047 auth.debug] debug1: Client protocol version 2.0; client software version PuTTY_Release_0.69 2017-11-23T09:28:13+03:00 Sulley sshd[6075]: [ID 800047 auth.debug] debug1: Client protocol version 2.0; client software version PuTTY_Release_0.67 Would it be possible for you to add the version to "PuTTY_KiTTY" as well in future releases? It would look like this with the version: "PuTTY_KiTTY_0.70.0.1" Thanks Daniel manu - Wed 13/12/2017 09:29:40 CET +0100

I feel it's easy, right?

Add these lines to your %APPDATA%/KiTTY/kitty.ini configuration file:
[KiTTY] sshversion=PuTTY_KiTTY_0.70.0.1 manu - Thu 05/04/2018 10:48:28 CEST +0200
Hi Cyd,
But when the KiTTY version is upgraded? Why not support something like this? [KiTTY] sshversion=KiTTY_%KITTY_VER% And then, the result will be: KiTTY_PuTTY_0.70.0.1 Answer |
