Feature Request: Running KiTTy from read-only media
Ivan Shatsky - Tue 27/03/2018 23:22:02 CEST +0200
Hello!
I'm migrating from+portable PuTTy http://jakub.kotrla.net/putty/ to portable KiTTy and would like to ask developers, what they are thinking about implementing a feature to run KiTTy from read-only media. For now it is working, but a non-critical error occured when KiTTy tries to open "Sessions\Default Settings" file for writing, and another non-critical error occured when KiTTy tries to create/update "Jumplist\RecentSessions" file. Portable PuTTy version have a config file where jumplist feature can be disabled completely. Such feature can be implemented by adding "-readonly" command line parameter or by setting/checking read-only attribute on a "Sessions\Default Settings" file. Anyway, thank you for a great piece of software, some features like a key mapping or knockd support are really awesome. manu - Wed 28/03/2018 13:09:57 CEST +0200

Please test this beta build: http://www.9bis.net/kitty/data/beta/kitty.exe
There is a new -readonly command-line option and this new config file parameter [KiTTY] readonly=yes Ivan Shatsky - Thu 29/03/2018 00:14:45 CEST +0200
Tested both command-line option and config file parameter, with and without "Jumplist" folder, on a write-protected media.
Everything is worked as expected. Thank you very much! Answer |
