win10 1803 virtual desktop kitty hangs

I'm trying to troubleshoot a problem recently with a vmware virtual desktop pool. when kitty is launched using one of the saved sessions that stored in registry the window opens up and curse flashes but never get login prompts. If I open kitty and key in server name I'm trying to connect (not using registry settings) the login works fine.

I know it just started recently and could be because of Windows 10 1803 release or a Microsoft patch. Also could be a patch on Vmware side. This desktop pool has been working from over a year with no problems.

I can't find any error or anything to indicate the problem. To further confuse the matter the template that the virtual desktops are made from kitty works fine. Only when I virtualize the desktop (recompose) does the virtual desktop have a problem.

Is there a hidden log file or something with kitty I can do to help identify the cause? Or any other suggestions?
