KiTTY and Pageant host fingerprint storage
Vlad G - Wed 24/10/2018 06:28:36 CEST +0200
There is a problem between Pageant and KiTTY. Just renaming it to putty.exe doesn't quite work. KiTTY currently stores all of the host fingerprints in \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Softwarebis.com\KiTTY\SshHostKeys
Meanwhile PuTTY stores them in \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SimonTatham\PuTTY\SshHostKeys which means that there are problems with fingerprinting. The perfect example is using git to clones over ssh. Just using Pageant and KiTTY a persistent message shows up that states that the host fingerprint is unknown, even though it is saved. Connecting to the new host with he old PuTTY executable fixes this without a problem. Leo - Wed 24/10/2018 08:38:30 CEST +0200
You may use Kageant, the agent for KiTTY.
