To '''set''' a variable the syntax is: set ''name'' = ''value''. In MSH.EXE all variables are global (available everywhere in the script). There is no type: all variables are string typed. Conversions are made automatically depending on the calling function (see [expr]). The '''[set]''' internal command can be forgotten. These commands are both valid: {msh> A=MAJOR msh> set a=minor msh> print $A $a MAJOR minor}If the variable name does not exists the variable is created, and it is updated otherwise. {msh> print $A msh> A=123 msh> print $A 123 msh> A=456 msh> print $A 456}
