There are a lot of cisco guys who would love to ditch hyperterminal for kitty if it could load firmware over xmodem. Can we get rx.exe and sx.exe?

Yes it works.
The settings panel has changed a little, but it is the same process.
You must set the paths to your local sz.exe et rz.exe binaries (you can get them from the ZModem page), and the path to the local folder where received files will be copied.
On the remote machine sz and rz commands must be available.
Then to send a file, run rz on remote host and use the "Zmodem upload" system menu item.
To received a file, run sz filename on remote host and use the "Zmodem Receive" system menu item.

Sorry !
sz and rz commands are available for Zmodem protocol only.
There is no way to transfer files in Xmodem in PuTTY.
